AIMGA is committed to the integration of international medical graduates in Alberta, offering a responsible, consultative, and equitable integration into the Canadian health care system, without compromising either existing medical ideals or standards, but with recognition of skills and experience  gained abroad.

Vision

Our vision is to integrate IMGs into Alberta health care system towards the benefit of the growing population of Alberta.

AIMGA believes

•  All Albertans should have the best health care in the world.
•  There is a physician shortage in the province and that this shortage is affecting the quality of     health care received by Albertans.
•  International Medical Graduates, residing in Alberta, can contribute in the alleviation of physician's shortage and hence improve Alberta's health care system.
• As Alberta's immigrant population is rapidly increasing, there is a need for IMG's who can understand the problems faced by our diverse population of immigrants.
• There should be an equal access for all Alberta's international medical graduates to the medical licensing and training programs according to the Canadian standards.
• Dialogue and cooperation with decision makers at all  governmental levels will ensure the smooth integration of Alberta's international medical graduates into the Canadian health care system.
